Question #6:

You brought up your own children in Israel and the U.S. What was the difference / advantage / disadvantage of this bicultural experience for your children?

Hanna Golan - About the Author

Answer #6:

My children’s transition from the Israeli culture to the American was much easier than mine had been. First of all, English was not as foreign to them as it was to me because they’d been exposed to it all their lives. Secondly, I was not the helpless adult in a strange world that my parents were. And last but not least, my children had each other while I was alone.

The advantages of my children’s multi-cultural upbringing were similar to mine and I truly cannot think of any disadvantages.
