Colorado, USA - A Puzzle: The large object shaped like a ball is a concretion, formed when mineral growth cemented sand grains around a central nucleus. Geologists aren't sure why this concretion formed right here. This is a good location to see the tilted sandstone layers resulting from the uplift of the Rocky Mountains.
